In today's world, the call for enhanced security has become commonplace. With numerous incidents occurring globally and even close to home in almost every country, the demand for safety and protection continues to grow—both in personal and professional spheres. Unsurprisingly, the security industry, with its many facets, remains one of the few markets experiencing consistent growth.

It is essential, however, to differentiate between the “standard” security market (guard services, basic facility security, standard event protection, etc.) and advanced security services, which involve developing complex security plans and implementing them—far beyond traditional security tasks or the scope of “private investigation.” This distinction is also reflected in the higher rates or salaries earned by professionals in these advanced roles.

Security managers—often referred to as Security Engineers or Risk Managers—are responsible for helping clients or employers (usually businesses, government agencies, or organizations) mitigate or prevent damage. Threats from criminals (including internal staff), terrorists, spies, saboteurs, or even crises and natural disasters can result in significant harm. A professional risk manager conducts a thorough risk assessment, gathering data to evaluate threats. Using this data, they create a comprehensive security plan and ensure its implementation across the organization—from the security guards at the gates to the emergency response teams, through every department, and extending to management, customers, and suppliers.

The spectrum of potential threats and events is vast, which means the knowledge and skills of a Risk Manager or Security Engineer must be equally extensive. Expertise in data collection and analysis, general security tactics (from guard services to occupational safety and fire prevention), anti-terrorism, criminalistics, forensic evidence collection, criminology, investigations, data protection, IT security, economic crime, espionage, executive protection, business and macroeconomics, law, psychology, financial systems, crisis management, and coordination with authorities like police and fire departments are all essential. The PSM course comprehensively covers all these areas and more.

If you’re looking to elevate your career to a significantly higher level—away from underpaid security jobs at factory gates, nightclubs, or as a “private investigator”—and you seek training that surpasses standard IHK certification courses or even university-level security management programs, the PSM is the right path for you! This course exceeds conventional security management programs offered by other providers or universities, featuring a far more comprehensive curriculum. Moreover, we guarantee internships and full-time employment for all students who successfully pass the final exam. Unlike many other programs, the PSM prepares participants for work on an international scale—our training looks beyond local markets to provide graduates with genuine global career opportunities, all from a single source.

One major drawback of many security management courses and programs (risk management, security engineering, etc.) is the lack of practical knowledge and real-world experience. Each year, numerous graduates from German universities and IHK-certified programs approach us for additional training or internships. Many security managers with university degrees often turn to us (BSG/EUBSA) for support because they lack the skills to resolve complex security challenges independently. This raises the question: why don’t these programs train their students to be fully capable of handling all security tasks independently? Our PSM course includes everything—both theoretical and practical training, such as investigations, espionage/counter-espionage, forensic work, and much more.

With the PSM certification, you’ll stand out as a true security expert, capable of handling real-world challenges globally. For example, just as an architect or engineer without practical construction experience cannot effectively supervise a construction site, a security manager must possess both theoretical knowledge and hands-on expertise to independently address security issues for their organization. Many existing programs fail to deliver this level of training—both theoretically and practically. The PSM, however, provides a complete education covering all critical aspects a modern security expert needs.

The BSA collaborates with highly qualified instructors, including experienced security professionals, lawyers, and experts from military, law enforcement, and intelligence backgrounds, to offer an academically rigorous program. This program culminates in a BSA Level II+ certification as a Professional Security Manager. Practical training is provided through seminars, on-the-job assignments, and workshops organized by EUBSA BV Inc., ensuring participants gain valuable real-world experience.

Our extended programs provide significantly more opportunities for graduates to enter a lucrative, exciting, and meaningful career field. Graduates at the BSA Level II+ (Master's or Graduate Level) gain access to international career paths upon completing their studies. Every participant receives a guaranteed job placement offer upon successfully completing the program, supported by our corporate partners and faculty. Students can also work part-time during their studies to earn additional income, with graduates being prioritized for leadership positions.

The PSM certification offers a distinct advantage over traditional security management courses. Unlike conventional programs, PSM graduates possess practical, real-world skills in areas like forensic work, investigations, and intelligence operations, enabling them to lead international teams in fields like executive protection. This comprehensive training makes the PSM far superior to typical security management certifications. We see this every year when students from other programs seek internships or employment with us—proving the limitations of many other courses.

The BSA "Professional Security Manager" (PSM) program is a complete course, offering all aspects of training from a single source, including internships, seminars, on-the-job training, and a BSA Level II or BSA Level II+ certification. This program provides a strong foundation for a professional and long-term career in the international private security market. We limit PSM enrollment each year to match the number of positions we plan to fill within EUBSA/BSG over the next 1–2 years. This allows us to guarantee permanent full-time employment for ALL successful graduates with a PSM Level II certification! No other program offers this level of assurance.

Total Cost: €7,500 for the PSM Level II program, including all theory, access to the online campus, comprehensive study materials, support, individual tutoring, practical assignments (seminars, internships, and paid on-the-job training), and support for projects and thesis work. Paid employment opportunities begin around month six of the program (subject to qualifications).

Duration: Depending on the chosen certification level, the program lasts approximately 12 to 24 months, with internships and on-the-job assignments provided directly by us.

Requirements: Minimum age 21, good health, a clean criminal record, and a secondary school diploma with vocational training or higher qualifications (e.g., Fachabitur). Alternatively, a primary school diploma combined with full vocational training (military service is recognized). Participants must also have access to a computer and the internet. Details available upon request.
